Boy, I love this one by Harold Land. And also his two others on Mainstream, Choma and Damisi. And I downloaded them all online this morning! The first two feature the great Bobby Hutcherson, of course. How do you categorize these... post bop modal? They are modern but not too far out to call them fusion, although they feature electric piano. For me they hit that sweet spot of the early 70’s with an adventurous style that never gets old. For me, these are like hitting the “jazz pot of gold.” I can listen to this stuff all day long.
