A+++. Paul Motian led so many great ECM sessions but his earliest work with Brackeen instead of Lovano is more interesting and engaging. David Izenzon was part of Ornette Coleman's trio in the wonderful Golden Circle sessions in the 1960s. The music here is fresh and engaging on multiple levels. This is ECM at its best. Love it!
